Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the village of Helen, GA is themed like a Bavarian Alpine village complete with cobblestone alleyways and building gingerbread trim.
Helen offers over 200 specialty shops including some dedicated to Bavarian crafts such wooden cuckoo clocks. A wide variety of restaurants cater to every taste with an emphasis on German cuisine.
Just two miles from Helen is Unicoi State Park which offers campsites, lodge rooms, fishing docks, summer boat rentals and numerous hiking and biking mountain trails. The twin Anna Ruby Falls, dropping 50 and 150 feet are located just north of the park and are accessible by foot and car.
Helen’s main attraction for kids is the Alpine Amusement Park, which offers Go-Carts and a bumper boat pool as well as arcade games and batting cages.
Most hotels and motels in Helen are located along the town’s main street and are either within a short drive or walking distance to area attractions and the village center.
